Winter
Bozner Christkindlmarkt
Advent, Advent...
Bolzano's Christmas market
As soon as it gets "christmassy", Bolzano gets embraced by a unique, contemplative atmosphere: you're going to see shiny streets and bridges, hear the hoof beat of horse-drawn carriages passing through narrow streets, and notice the smell of delicious roasted chestnuts.
80 stallholders in their delightful little huts will be offering tasteful seasonal gifts (handmade wooden, glass and ceramic products along with charming Christmas tree decorations, delicious seasonal pastries and many more original gifts), plenty of food specialities, such as the famous "Zelten", and cauldrons of mulled wine to gather around in the main square, while the authentic aura of an Alpine Christmas pervades the medieval streets. As a sweet alternative you can also enjoy a hot chocolate at the original "Sacherhaus".
In addition: a craftsmen's market, children's attractions, horse-drawn coach rides and secluded niches to savour an aperitif, like the Campofranco palace courtyard.
